My career started at age 12 when my 6th grade teacher gave me extra fun work to do. It was a box of crayons and a piece of paper. I designed inter mingling angular shapes in a variety of colors that ended up on my teacher's extra special bulletin board. It shaped my awareness that maybe this was a path I could pursue that would be fun and rewarding.
I took classes at the New School in NYC and then received an art scholarship in Mexico to continue my passion. I was influenced by Mexican Mayan art and later spent some time in Santa Fe, NM to reestablish my love of that aspect of artistic development. This collection, "Santa Fe" is conceived in awareness of Mayan and the blended Santa Fe cultures.
